Question about using blogspot.com and my own domain name

I asked this over at WHT, but I thought I would ask it here as well.

Quote:
Ok here is the issue. My website, thesauk.com is not working right if you do not put the www in front of thesauk.com. I am using the blogspot.com on google to host the blog and they have an option where you can set your personal domain name to it, you just have to change the cname "www" to what they say. Well I did that and when you put www in front of url it works great.

But if you just put in http://thesauk.com it does not work and goes to the godaddy landing page.

My question is, how the heck do I fix that so that both will go to the blogger site? Is there an entry I can put into godaddy under the total control area to enable this?

Thanks in advance
Any help at all is beyond appreciated

I assume the domain is at Godaddy and your site is here?

Ok I figured it out through the google groups.

You have to delete the "A" entry in order for it to work.

As you have hosting here - I would put the A record to you surpass hosting - create a subdomain and then jus put a redirect to www... here.

Ok here is something that is coming up for me.....

I just reformatted my hard drive and I have the old IE in there, when I go to thesauk.com it does not take me there, but in Firefox it takes me to the website. Why would it do this? Also can any of you check on this for me as well.

http://thesauk.com http://www.thesauk.com

Any help is always appreciated.

**Edit** Also are you able to see the pictures that are on the post? The properties point to localhost which I am not sure if that is google or me.....

Only the www. one takes me anywhere. I can see the pictures, and video things fine.

Get this when I ping both:

Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\Headrick>ping thesauk.com
Ping request could not find host thesauk.com. Please check the name and try agai
n.

C:\Documents and Settings\Headrick>ping www.thesauk.com

Can someone explain to me a little more on adding the domain then the A record, kind of confused on that. I think that is the only way I will be able to have both work.

Get the A-record for the domain changed exactly as you managed to get the record for www.domain changed.

ok that confused me even more. I know how to add a add on domain, but how would I then redirect it to the blog? Plus I believe I add the A record with the IP that my reseller is on which is easy.
