1 website that only loads sometimes

Hello!

I believe this is a dns problem i'm having. one of the websites on my server only loads sometimes. www.loadsofshows.com is the site. At work, I can connect no problem, but I'm not able to use FTP. At home, I can use both ftp and the site. At my dads house I can ftp, but i cannot view the site. And at some friends computers, I cannot do either!

Haha, this is such a fluke I cannot figure out and its driving me nuts. Also, I have learned that on my computer at home, it can load http://loadsofshows.com but not www.loadsofshows.com .

This website uses the same dns servers, dns1.sheaallen.com and dns2.sheaallen.com - same as all of my websites, but it is the only one with a problem. Any ideas?

Both load for me.

http://www.dnstuff.com shows both names going to the same IP.

Maybe you have a problem with your local DNS cache?

In addition, Ted's Homemade Tools shows both going to the same IP as well.

I would try clearing your local cache.

we use sprint at work, and cox at home. All the computers at work have a problem connecting to its ftp, not just one. At home it is no problem. But a developer located in Egypt has problems connecting to the FTP as well. I'll try clearing the cache, but that wouldn't effect ftp would it?

Thank you!

i got a message from support, could this have been the answer?

Quote:
Hello,

It is very possible that the DNS issues with this domain would have caused that. The NS records for this domain were both set to dns1.sheaallen.com, though at the registrar, dns1 and dns2 were set. I have corrected the DNS zone and once the changes have been allowed to propagate, this should solve the issue. Please let us know if you continue to experience any issues with this.

Regards,
Tim

Might be a firewall or maybe your ports have a turn on-turn off time schedule?
