Half of my domains are suddenly pointing elsewhere

Yesterday, according to my wife, when accessing the homepage of one of my domains, was just a generic homepage with a bunch of ads. A few hours later, it reverted back to the original homepage. I dismissed it as typing in the url wrong (I know, I know, bad husband).

Today, three out of my six domains are affected (www.denverfloorball.com for an example). The affected domains are pointing to 8.15.231.100; whereas the rest are pointing to Dime9 correctly. My customer has two domains--one is affected, the other is not.

Of my six domains, five are registered with 1&1 (three are affected) and one is registered with GoDaddy (was the one affected yesterday). I'm not sure where my customer's domains are registered (but I think with Yahoo).

What could be happening?

P.S. - All of my domains are registered through 2008, and they all still belong to me.

Something funky is going on here. It's showing a similar website that another guys website was going to. The tracert is showing that it is not going anywhere close to Surpass's network.

I would go to the registrar of each domain you have and verify that the name servers are set correctly to those that Surpass supplied.

Ahhh... here's the problem, the name servers are set to HDDNS.COM something:

denverfloorball.com
IP Addresses: 72.29.74.171
IP Country: United States
Reverse IP Lookup: IP hosts 528 domains

Hosting Company Name: HDDNS.COM
ICANN Registrar: SCHLUND+PARTNER AG
Creation Date: Oct 14 2004
Expiry Date: Oct 14 2007

Looks as if the reseller's custom DNS domain name expired 2 days ago, so basically the name servers are currently set to something that doesn't exist anymore.

Okay. Support just told me that the nameservers were changed from hddns to dizinc and I should update accordingly.

When did this happen, and why weren't we notified via e-mail about this?

What's most frustrating is that I'm dutifully subscribed to my server page, and no where in that thread says we needed to change our nameservers (I don't use custom nameservers).

Updated all of my domains, and they are now pointed correctly to the right pages.

That question I can't answer. Hmmm.. wonder if hddns.com stood for HostDime DNS? I have no idea, that would be a question too ask in the ticket.

These were actually phased out a couple years ago but we kept them active on our dns server. We were having problems with the dns server these are on and it seems to have just brought this problem to light. So we are trying to change everyone as they open tickets

Sorry for any chaos this has caused!

Yes, we emailed everyone a long time ago about it... and we kept the DNS active for years even after we notified to stop using them.

This was back when we used WHM Autopilot only and we emailed the addresses in that database...

All of our servers are basically consolidated to use dizinc.com DNS... as you can tell here:
