Can a domain name be changed?

Can a domain name be changed?

Another question is if I add an add on domain, can I put the name of that domain in the web browser (www.add-on-domain.com) to get to it or do I have to put www.add-on-domain/domain.com?

Hopefully I haven't been too confusing.

Thanks in advance!

Do you mean your MAIN domain name? If so, then yes. You will have to submit a ticket in support for them to do that change for you.

Now for your second question, when you put an add-on domain it will redirect to a sub-domain in your files. Example: Add-on (sora-designs.org) redirect (urbanroxy.com/sora-designs) Hopefully that made sense for you and answered your question. =)

OR if you want to know if you can host two unique domains on your account...

You can do that too.

Although.. to confuse you more... .the add-on domain, will also be a sub-domain of your main domain....

That's so dirty of CPanel to do it like that. I hate it so much. They need a CPanel-NS edition (NS = not sucky).

It shouldn't confuse, that's exactly what it is.

for the domain name change question? you can't change a domain name after it's been registered, you'd have to register a new one, That's how I took that question, so if thats not what you meant, sorry. :-)

but to change the domain name on a current hosting plan here, like roxy said, you'd have to submit a support ticket. I guess everyone else here took that question to mean that. I didn't.

I mostly understand.

What I want to do is have another website not associated with the one I already have. I was just wondering if I needed to buy another plan or if an add on would work.

I asked about changing the name because I no longer want my main site www.thepupparade.com. I want to go in a different direction and was looking for an easier way to go about it.

Thanks everyone!

How do I do this? I'm understanding that I would still have www.thepupparade.com and another domain?

Yes you can have your current domain and another entirely different site with a domain name all under one roof. The only thing is that when you add-on the extra domain, it will have to re-direct to a sub-domain from your root domain, as puckchaser said.

So you don't want www.thepupparade.com as your main domain anymore, like I said above, you are able to change it by submitting a ticket to support. Of course you will do this once you have purchased the other/new domain name.
