Shouldn't make any difference since your nameservers are never accessed via HTTP
![]() This just means someone assigned a dedicated IP to a user that's also being used as a NS IP

But why would people see it to begin with? There is no legitimate reason for you to have to access http://yournameserver.dizinc.com

Quote:
![]() It looks like a subdomain just like any other, and some e-mail clients make it a clickable link. Plus, there's always curious people who want to try typing it in. I just lie to people and say it's a site I host and that the httpd.conf file pulls up that site due to a misconfiguration in cPanel ![]() |

The problem with not putting sites on the nameserver IPs is that this would be a gross waste of IP addresses. If we had 250 shared hosting servers with two IPs dedicated completely to nameservers, that means that there are 500 IPs going to waste just so that some curious users don't see some other guy's site.
More boring reading: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2050.txt IPs are running out, guys. Gotta conserve and whatnot ![]()
