Works, but doesn't...

Okay.
For some reason one of my domains either works for me, but really slow, or it doesn't work at all for me.
But then my roommate can pull up the site and I can access the site through a proxy. I've tried changing the nameservers a couple of times and some other things.
I've also tried to flush my dns cache and restart the computer.
The domain acting up is Lost Whisper it's registered at the same place as most of my other domains and they all work and was pointed at the same DNS names...
It'll ping from the online test places, but won't ping from my computer.
I'm not behind a router... So I think it might be my computer...

Any ideas appreciated (Except for buying a new computer or breaking the current one or anything like that...)

Ok, first, your site loads fine for me. So, no idea.

BUT I not so very long ago exactly the same kind of thing happened with both my site and daysies's website. (Loaded slow for one of us/didn't load - and then was fine for the other.) I have no real explanation.

Can you paste a trace route to your domain? maybe its somthing in your isp's backbone. Also, please provide your external IP address so I can check the servers log for anything out of the ordinary. SurpassHosting.com - Resource Website

lol, have you tried this?

note: read it all before you do it. After you do the release you will have no internet connectivity until you do all the steps.... I've screwed up before xD.
Quote:
Go to start > run
Type in cmd
Click OK
type in "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes) and press enter
let it do it's thing
type in "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes) and press enter
let it do it's thing
type in "ipconfig /renew" (also without the quotes) and press enter
let it do it's thing
It's fixed a few of my problems dealing with DNS specific things. Not sure if it'll really help you, but it's worth a try? It also might just be your ISP. Meh, I'm too inexperienced to really say much on the matter though.

Whoa.. the Mac dns flush command from before no longer works with Leopard.

Old OSX way: lookupd -flushcache
Leopard way: dscacheutil -flushcache

You mean
Quote:
Start Terminal
$ lookupd -flushcache
Edit
H beat me?... Anyways, I'm still sadly on Tiger. Upgrading soon, probably in a couple of months when I stop hearing people complain about it.

H I have a quick question, why do I have 1 ethernet port and 1 wireless card, yet the Mac network utility thing shows several...?
