dynamic subdomains
Anyone know if it would be possible to have abc.example.com go to example.com/?p=abc without abc being a registered subdomain of example.com? I've been messing with mod rewrite in .htaccess, but I have a feeling that just might not be enough to get it to work. I'm on shared hosting by the way.
EDIT: Disregard, I just successfully added *.example.com to my subdomains and now everything works fine. Last edited by meephead; August 2nd, 2008 at 5:31 PM.. |

Looks like you will need to have wildcard DNS enabled, and I'm not sure if Surpass does this. I would open a support ticket explaining what you'd like to do.
http://desk.surpasshosting.com virtual subdomain - Google Search Lots of info in that Google query. Hope this helps! |
