Exclamation Add-on domain?

I'm a little concerned about the way a domain is added. The problem I'm having is this: I have 2 domains. I do not want one added as a sub-domain because I have hostees on both domains. With the host I had before I was allowed to "split" my plan the way I wanted. Does Surpass allow this? This is a feature I need. Someone help! Yes, I already submitted a ticket.

Ok.

ADDON domain points to a subdirectory, which can host a completely different site.

PARKED domain points to your ROOT directory, which is like sitea=siteb

Exclamation

Parked? Um ... don't mean to sound like a blond ... however, these are 2 very different domains. Both in use. Would I be able to have a seperate cpanel for both? Will my hostees be allowed a subdomain or just a folder? I don't understand how this works. OH, THE FRUSTRATION! What am I not getting?

you want ADDON.

The sites can be completely different, and don't have to link to eachother in any way.

SO, for example, your lets say your main domain is thatgirl.net

The server is structured like this:
Code:
user-root/public_html <<< this is 'thatgirl.net'
user-root/public_html/thisgirl <<< this is the folder/subdirectory
Then they point the addon domain thisgirl.org to:
Code:
user-root/public_html/thisgirl
Techinically thisgirl is a subdomain, but because you've pointed a fully-qualified-domain (thisgirl.org) to it, it will be accessable to the world as thisgirl.org

Does that make sense?

Thanks Big John for all your help. I added dramatized.net as an add on domain. Now, I can't get the nameserver right. When I use the nameservers given to me it says: "Field Validation Error
Please correct the following issue(s):
Unknown error in field Host name1
Unknown error in field Host name2."

validation means that your registrar is checking with SURPASS to determine if they are truely the host.

So, you have to wait until surpass processes the ADDON. Then you can point your domain.

Thanks, again. You're a life saver. Things are working better now. I'll try not to bother you again for ... 10 or 15 minutes.

That's actually not correct. You can set your nameservers to any valid ones you want, no matter if they are the host or not.

What it sounds like that she was trying to enter the IP addresses it lists on the add on domain page. You should set your add on domain's nameservers to the same as your main domain for the account.

Give that a shot.
