question about switching domains

Say I orginally bought my FS-1 domain from Doteasy and it was just about expired so I decided to purcahse it at Surpass Domains. I still waiting for it to propagate with my new hosting at Surpass.

Would this process take longer since its transfering then it normally would with a unused domain name?

just read the FAQ on this, I did not recieve a email from my old domain host or from surpass with a "Approval" link in it.

I orginally bought the domain one year ago from Doteasy (It expired today June 6th 2004). Its been 24 hours since I registered, I was hoping to at least be seeing some progress in the DNS switchover to my surpass host. I got a email from surpass saying that FS-1.com was now under a surpass host (It was the welcome email I think)

Is this all normal?

You may want to check with doteasy. It appears that they still have control of the domain. I know some registrars won't allow you to transfer if the domain is about to expire (like within 10 days). Don't know what their policy is, but I think you need to contact them and find out.

Failure is not an option. It comes standard with all Microsoft products.

Worst case is that you would have to renew it with them, and then transfer it.

It's a pain, but once it's done you're good to go.

finally got my confirmation from Surpass but doteasy just contacted me and told me that I had to rebuy the domain from them before I could move it. Waste of 15 freaking dollars

But that only means that you have the domain for that much longer now.. and won't have to worry about it in the near future when it is time to renew..

*trying to shed some light on the situation..* :hiding:
