I think I understood you properly.
It is very easy to get the "customized nameservers" working. First, you have to make sure you are on a reseller or semi-dedicated/dedicated account. Next, you would head over to your domain name's registrar and set up ns1.yourdomain.com to point to your server's IP address for the first nameserver and ns2.yourdomain.com to point to your server's second IP address affiliated with its second nameserver (both included in your welcome e-mail). After that, you'd point your domain name to the new 'customized' nameservers ns1.yourdomain.com ns2.yourdomain.com And once the propogation, which takes 24-72 hours, completes, your domain name will now be revolved around the customized nameservers and your clients (as well as your other domain names that you host on your account) can use those new 'customized' nameservers, as well. ![]() |

According to a DirectI knowledge database article found at http://manage.directi.com/kb/servlet...et/faq456.html, it is correct that "child name servers" is the same as registering a nameserver for your domain name.
