addon?

Hey everybody,

I'm not sure if i'm here at the right address, but I just wanted to know if this is normal... you know, i'm quit dissappointed...

I two months ago I bought my hosting and domain name here at surpass.
And a couple of days ago, I decided to replace the main domain ( now still BillyCrawfordOnline.com) with a new registered domain (SpinningInInfinity.net).
And I would like to use the 'old' one as an Addon-domain.

So a posted a ticket at the help desk:

Total costs; $45! Isn't this a little too much? I mean for that money I could buy myself better a new hosting plan, instead of two sites at one hosting plan...

The new registered domain costs about $16 +a new domain costs $ 15 +
the switching-thing fee is $10 = alltogether $41

Or am I overseeing something? Is there I better way for doing this? (I want my two sites being independent from eachother, but I don't care if they share the same C-panel)

why not keep the current site as the main one and put the other as an addon that way its only $31

You're going to stress over $4? Changing the accounts around it a bit of work for surpass, I think $4 extra is pretty resonable.

I've got it done for me for 2-3 times. I guess they have started charging, I never read it in there tos

Remember though, these are ONE TIME fees. You could have upgraded to a plan that included Addon's but in the long run that might have cost much more...

You aren't playing for just an add-on though, as the topic of this post leads us to believe... You have to pay for a new domain, so that $16 is non-negotiable. And if you want to have it on your same hosting plan, while that $15 fee is non-negotiable either. The only thing you're really choosing to pay for is the $10 to switch what you main domain name is.

And as Unleashed said... keep your main domain what it is, and just addon the new domain. It makes no difference to the people who are visit these domains which is which.

Hey guys,
thanx for you answers, ofcourse I understand that $16 for the new registered domain is non-negotiable. I just found all those fees a little bit on the expensive side...
I guess that I'll have to pay it all, if I want it to be done this way.

They are one time fees, Ester. They only happen when you want something like this changed / modified. Other hosts charge much more (typically $25) for stuff like that. My first host charged $5/month for an ADDON or parked domain...
