Hello there;
I am in share hosting, and purchase a Add-On domain from another reseller some times ago. My problem is everytime I type my add-on domain name it always goes to my main domain name default page, and at the browser it shows my main domain name default page. I tried many way to make it stay in my add-on domain name at the browser but no luck, can some body see where i did wrong, please. Below is the procedure I undertake to add my add-on domain. 1. at Cpanel "Addon Domains" I added my new domain name "fairyrose.com" and pointing it to my "Username/directory/subdomain Name: fairyrose" 2. It automatically created a subdirectory name "fairyrose" under "public_html" 3. at Cpanel "subdomain" I added "fairyrose", thus it's like this: "fairyrose.pandanboyz.com" I suppose that all I have to do to add my Addon domain. But everytime I type, fairyrose.com at the browser it's automatically goes to my default main domain website... "http://pandanboyz.com/news/index.php" . I tried many times deleting and setting it up again and again but no luck at all. Bytheway... I redirected my main domain name index.php to another subdomain at Cpanel "redirect". Saying that it means "http://pandanboyz.com/index.php" directed to "http://pandanboyz.com/news/index.php". Will this cause any problem to my addon domain? I'm sorry for long thread, but i just trying to be as detail as possible. Thank you in advance. Please help me. I want my addon domain name stay as it is in my browser and not goes to my main domain default page. Thank you! |

For an addon, all you do is step 1/2.
Then load your content into fairyrose folder. when you go to http://fairyrose.com you see that page. Addon domain is not equal to subdomain! John

I have done that before and did it couple of times now, just created Addon domain, still same problem... Either it redirect to my default main domain index page or sometimes shows Cpanel Error Page "nothing is being setup".
However if i type the full directory listing at the browser, of my main domain name which pointing to the directory that i want to point my addon domain is works, i can view the page that i want. Thus, Cpanel error page should not exist. Nayway a few questions more to ask... please: 1) can i point the Addon domain name to an existing directory name that already been created? or it has to be a new directory name (auto create by Addon domain utilities)? I tried both way with no luck, anyway. Just for my knowledge. 2)Will supass support will do it for me, if i request? I bought my main domain from surpass, but the addon from another reseller. Thank you Bigjohn for your kind reply. |
