... if I'm registered at Godaddy for http://www.DOMAINNAME.com, but surpass has me down for http://DOMAINNAME.com?

No... it is not an issue. You can access your site with or without the "www" in the domain name.

Godaddy is your domain name registrar, while Surpass is your web host. Surpass domains cannot become your domain name registrar unless you specifically request a domain transfer.
