What's wrong with pressing Ctrl-Shift-T? I do that to check all my accounts.
This is directed at anyone who can answer it; I wasn't following this conversation when the plugin was first mentioned.

http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/main.php/Thunderbird If you run the latest version of THunderbird - get all mail is available via a drop down from the Get Mail button, so it's 2 clicks and retrieves all the mail. No need for plug in. On older versions of Thunderbird the plugin should work just dandy. |

In Thunderbird 1.0 it's in File, Get New Messages For, Get All New Messages, so it's 3 clicks, or you can just press Ctrl-Shift-T.
Is there a tester release newer than Thunderbird 1.0? If so, I can't find it on the site.

Oh, I do have a Get Mail button! I hadn't even noticed. I still prefer pressing Shift-Ctrl-T, personally.

Many thanks for the responses, however I realised a little later after thinking about it, that wasn't the question which I wanted answered. However, I have now, after pondering for a while discovered the answer myself.
I have been using Thunderbird as a pop mail client for about 18mths and with my movement to Surpass I decided that I should try to get Imap working. My only problem was that I had email accounts from my ISP as well as my Surpass account, the problem was how to get them all into my Imap account. The answer turned out to be quite simple - just in case anyone wants to know - and I now have a fully functional Imap system which contains mail from all my sources. My method was: 1. Set up Thunderbird as an Imap client to my Surpass Account 2. Create all the individual folders (at my desk) that I required. These are automatically created on the server. 3. Create a new Account for my 'off world' email 4. Create filters for mail that needed to be kept - set the Move to or Copy to folder to the Imap account. 5. Use the Getmail or Get All Mail button and the mail comes in and is sorted into it's various folders and also uploaded, if necessary, to the Imap server. Seems to work brilliantly. Thanks for all the replies. Ray |
