Can individual personalities be set up for each mailbox account in say, Squirrelmail or any other webbased email app? On a different service, I've found that Squirrelmail saves one set of specifications only and will not allow for multiple users to be individually defined.
Once I set up, for example, through options for my email address to be support kimbwei.com all mail being sent out from any address via squirrelmail will have that address. I don't know if surpasshosting works differently but the service I've been using also used cpanelX.Thanks, Kimi |

I know with Horder each account is completely individual, so yes, you can set "personalities" with it...

Patrick, is Horde stable? I heard a few months back it was buggy. Do you happen to know, if I set up multiple return addresses in Horde, will they work in Squirrelmail?
Squirrelmail is supposed to be a really good app. This is quite a drawback for it to have. On another email issue: how do subusers of domains I host access webmail? In other words > hosted account > an employee of account hosted has an email address linked to site > how does he log into webmail to read his mail? Can multiple users access webmail from the same computer? I've had trouble with this on the vhs I currently use. Once cookies are set, the self-perpetuate; I can't log out from one address to get back in to read mail for another address. Kimi |

I nor any of my clients have had any problems with Horde, except for this one bozo that was trying to send a 30 meg attachment through it. The mailing lists of the three webmail apps are kept separate from each other, so no you can't set them up in one and use them in another.
I have never used or tried Squirrelmail and I don't really intend to. I find Horde to fit my needs quite well. Accessing webmail is very simple. All you have to do is type in your http://domain.com:2095 and you will be prompted for a login. Type in the full email address, and the password, and voila, webmail. You can even setup a subdomain like webmail.domain.com and have people go to that. Same login principle. Yes, you can use multiple accounts from one computer. At least in Horde.

Thanks for the info.
Sorry, I'm a little overloaded. I don't understand how it might work to setup a subdomain webmail.mysite.com > would this redirect to the Horde interface? I'm thinking about setting up an easy set of procedures for my clients to follow, those with low tech skills and no desire to ever enter their control panel or type a URL which contains symbols other than / or . Any suggestions deeply appreciated. |
