300 SPAM within the last hour!!!

I've never experienced such intense spamming before!!!
300 in 60minutes? that's average of 1 spam in 12 secs

just curious... anyone experiencing this?

i'm taking my url out of my sig... that's the only place where i can think of where it's published recently

i have this weird suspicion that spammers are targetting surpass and surmunity to harvest newly added domains.

one of my customer rcvd over 60 spam the moment i switched his hosting to surpass' server.

help! this is not funny!!!

yes, spamassassin is enabled. and all mails marked are rerouted to one single a/c, which lets me keep track of most of the spams that come in.

I have the same problem.
Spam things just send it to anythingdomain.tld
If you look at who it's to, it probably says something like:
To: asdfgyourdomain.tld
Go into CPanel and click mail->Default Address
And then you can change it, and that should slow down the spam,
I beat your record, 514 in 1 hour

That is very strange. I get virtually no spam whatsoever. Please email support as soon as possible: http://desk.surpasshosting.com/ . The best of luck to you--spam sucks.

it is strange, cos i'm monitoring 3 other domains on the same hosting space for my customers, and only this one particular domain is experiencing it. the rest are only getting the usual one or two stray ones.

actually... i've just checked some of them.. it appears that someone was spoofing my domain AND sending SPAM to others, majority are automated reject notices... oh why me? :'( i'll be blacklisted for sure if this continues!

Spoofing is very popular now, but you need to remember that they are not physically sending mail from your account.
They are just putting random addresses that they harvest (the same addresses that they would send spam to) into the from field, and when an email bounces or gets rejected, it goes back to the same address in the field.

For example, it is even happening to us. Spoofers are using random surpasshosting.com addresses that do not even exist, and I am getting bounces at our default address.

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

joe2surpasshosting.com
This message has been rejected because it has
a potentially executable attachment "INFO.pif"
This form of attachment has been used by
recent viruses or other malware.
If you meant to send this file then please
package it up as a zip file and resend it.

I think there is something wrong with on the servers...I am on Vinka and before it was moved to Orlando and a new box there, I NEVER got spam that made it past SpamAssassin. Usually, SA would get about 10 per day, but none of them would reach me... now I am getting 10-20 a day and it doesn't seem like SA is doing anything at all.

So based on the sudden silence in this thread... am I to believe that it is a coincidence that at the exact same time my server is moved, I am magically added to hundreds of spam lists? Come on, get serious.

Not to mention, there are other settings issues on the servers, and the move for vinka did not go well, wouldn't suprise me a bit to find out SA was not working properly.
