SMTP giving me hell
Well, now and then I have to log into my e-mail via webmail (which I can't figure out how to make public for other users...nor do I know how to make it respond to subdomains..but that's another issue entirely), and I use Firefox and Thunderbird for my browsing and e-mail needs. Ever since around a week ago, Thunderbird's been giving me problems about needing a new certificate, because the one I currently have has a serial number that's being used by another source (localhost/domain I guess). THe only thing I can guess is that firefox registered my webmail as the secure route and used the certificate for my webmail, but that makes it impossible for me to send via thunderbird.
Now, I hope that isn't too incoherent. ;; I just woke up and this is frustrating me. Any help would be appreciated~ |

Me too. I've been having problems with both Outlook AND Thunderbird. The message that I got was that the server was rejecting SMTP or whatever.
It's very frustrating, especially since I emailed support about it a couple of days ago and have heard NOTHING.

I just found a reply dated 6/29 sitting in my Bulk Mail folder:
Hello, I have restarted the mail server, if you are still unable to get mail I need you to do the following: 1. Click on your 'Start' Menu 2. Click 'Run..' 3. Type: telnet yourdomain.com 25 If this doesnt do anything or just gives you a blank screen I need you to do it again but as telnet yourdomain.com 26. Just reply with a copy of the telnet in the response. Regards, William
