Hi all,
I've just finished transferring my hosting services to Surpass a few days ago, but I'm not receiving emails. I use Mozilla Thunderbird instead of Outlook. I've tried sending test emails from another email address that I am certain works, but get failed delivery notifications every time. I can login to cpanel alright, the nameservers were set correctly the other day, and the Thunderbird settings are set correctly as well. Thunderbird, in fact, can access the account correctly (e.g. it says there are no new messages; it would report a username/password mismatch error if it didn't work). I'm not sure if sending emails works because I use another SMTP server from my other email account and don't want to mess that up to test it. ![]() Is it going to take a few more days to begin working, or is there some setting I am overlooking in cpanel to get email working? Thanks, Brian |

Are you trying to receive email from the main account or from a secondary account? IF a secondary account, you may need to use the full email address as the username.

Thanks snide, I am trying from the main account so far. Thunderbird logs in okay, that's not the problem. Emails sent to the address just bounce back with a daemon delivery failure notice. Tb just reports no new messages. I get the same thing with webmail - I can login, so there is an account there, but nothing gets through.
I'm getting errors with my website too. I tried setting up a registered domain as an add-on to my main account. I created a subdomain off my main site as instructed. But the add-on utility failed to add it, saying something like the domain is already registered. No kidding! Add-ons have to be unregistered? I have a power account so I'm entitled to one add-on. Haven't tried ftping my site up yet as I'm still working on it. But I really need that email up and running; I'm missing important emails. |

I would suggest contacting support. Sounds like a configuration issue, especially if you're getting errors with adding on a domain as well. I'm rather baffled by this all myself.
