This may explain why some of our people can receive but not send mail when they use isp.com to dial in when they're traveling. The isp.com support people say "we block all port 25 access except mail.isp.com."
Can we get around this by opening another port besides 25 or 26 on server nifty? We have a mix of Mac, PC Eudora, and Thunderbird users, so I don't know which to suggest. (Eudora does have a checkbox for port 587) |

Ok I have been having problems sending email on pass66.dizinc.com. Its not allowing me to connect on port 198 as outlined here. When I filed a ticket for support here is the response I got.
Code:
Dear Richard, The SMTP process running on the server listens to the port number 25 and not on 198. We verified that SMTP and POP connection to the server is working fine. Please do check it from your end. If you faces any troubles please get back to us with your IP address (visit whatismyip.com) and traceroute and telnet results from your end. Let us know how it goes.. ---------------------------- [level3@netflow2 ~]$ telnet pcsites.com 25 Trying 66.7.200.85... Connected to pcsites.com (66.7.200.85). Suddenly it appears to be working. Though no answer from support or here. Looks like my first support experience with Surpass is likely to be a bit disappointing.
