Yes - thanks. Looks like it finally was sent at 8:15pm. Did a test message just now and still works. Thanks for the quick service. I'll update the ticket to say it's fixed.

Is there something that needs to be added to MOPs for turning up servers after failure to catch these exceptions (since 198 is not open on all servers)?

Tom

Unhappy Port 198 turned off again.

Alas, once again port 198 is not working on PASS52 this morning. Someone must have changed it back. I am reopening my ticket. This is getting aggravating.

This is really odd, no one usually goes into the service manager.. ever. No one has a reason to really because those settings are permanent.

I am trying to find out why this has been happening - but it is definitely not because someone has disabled it. It has been enabled this entire time.

Kayla,

Following is the information that support provided when they fixed the problem yesterday afternoon.

Port 198 needed to be enabled in the server firewall. I have done this and restarted the firewall and was able to properly telnet into the port. Let us know if you are still having issues.

I'm not sure why it worked and then stopped working. But it is now working.

I am writing a memo out right now to all of our staff to note this - I think I am going to start putting 198 on each server so that we can have a solid understanding of what's going on and so that everyone knows to make sure that it stays open.

Thanks for letting me know about this and keeping me updated - this will prevent a lot of headaches for everyone involved.
