Any chance of getting port 587 enabled for SMTP?
SBC appears to be blocking both ports 25 and 26 for SMTP.
We used 587 at a previous host and had no trouble sending mail.

I just signed up for a reseller account and I seem to be having the same issue where my isp blocks 25 and 26. There's really no obscure port that they have mapped? This could really be a deal-breaker for me since I have a lot of remote users that connect from various places and can't be changing their smtp server each time. A previous host used 2525 which worked fine for me. I think the key is that it's kind of become standard that port 26 can be used with many hosting service and therefore many isps are blocking it.

We would have to make an announcement and send out an email to customers on these servers to let them know that the port has been changed and 26 is no longer used.
We would rather enable only one extra port for SMTP, so we will send out emails now to SH96, SH91 and Pass58 customers letting them know, and change the port in a few hours. We've decided to use 198. (S is the 19th letter of the alphabet, H is the 8th.) ![]() We can make this change on other servers, just need to get in the requests here so that we know you want the change done. |

Working for me.
Thank you! ![]() I'm pretty new to this, so I don't know exactly which server I'm on. (Edit: I'm on pass58) Last edited by jamesd; May 17th, 2006 at 12:21 AM.. |

I used to be on SH91 but am now on Pass52. Received email saying port 198 now active on my server, but it appears not to be working on Pass52.
Has it been activated for Pass52?

It can be now.
Give me about 30 minutes to get everything settled.. and the email sent out to clients on Pass52.(I think your client profile still has you on SH91 since your account was first installed there... sorry about that. I'll change that as well.) |
