Has anyone on Surpass successfully installed Horde on their site? I am getting this when running the test.php file...

Quote:
[i]... excerpt from test.php ...
  • PEAR - Yes
  • Recent PEAR - Yes
  • Mail - Yes
  • Log - No
  • Make sure you are using a version of PEAR which includes the Log classes, or that you have installed the Log package seperately. See the INSTALL file for instructions on installing Log.
  • DB - Yes
  • Net_Socket - Yes
  • Date - No
  • Horde requires the Date_Calc class for Kronolith to calculate dates.
  • HTML_Common/HTML_Select - No
Horde requires the HTML_Common and HTML_Select classes only for Kronolith 1.0 to display forms correctly.
Note the Log stating it is not installed.

This is what happens that when running the Horde application directly... I get the Horde logon screen and enter the username/password and the following errors show up:

Quote:
Warning: logmessage(Log.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/arfclan/public_html/webmail/horde/lib/Horde.php on line 186

Warning: logmessage(): Failed opening 'Log.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/arfclan/public_html/webmail/horde/lib/Horde.php on line 186

Fatal error: Undefined class name 'log' in /home/arfclan/public_html/webmail/horde/lib/Horde.php on line 187
I attempted to follow the instructions for installing the PEAR Log module and got these errors:

Quote:
-bash-2.05b$ pear install Log
downloading Log-1.8.0.tgz ...
Starting to download Log-1.8.0.tgz (24,249 bytes)
........done: 24,249 bytes

Warning: mkdir(/usr/local/lib/php/doc/Log): Permission denied in System.php on line 241

Warning: mkdir(/usr/local/lib/php/doc/Log/docs): No such file or directory in System.php on line 241
failed to mkdir /usr/local/lib/php/doc/Log/docs
Any suggestions?

I am not familiar with PEAR, but I know that CPanel had some major update issues here just recently. It is possible that this is the reason for the PEAR not being installed.

You cannot install PEAR yourself, at least not to the directories mentioned. You don't have the access levels to create/make files/directories in that pathname. Maybe try emailing support about this and seeing what they say about the mysterious PEAR.

It was explained on another thread to do a Horde installation if you wanted to do WEBMAIL.DOMAIN.COM, so I am in the process of doing that... that is, unless I can point WEBMAIL.DOMAIN.COM at that address.

Also, it would need to be accessible via port 80... another reason for a new installation given in that same thread.

To get as far as I did, you need to chop up the SQL file they tell you to import after manually creating the database and setting the user(s). I am not all the way there yet, so...

Axe, I have webmail.domain.com pointed to Horde on all my websites hosted under me. The only downfall is that after the login prompt pops up, then the login screen for Horde comes up. It has all the data filled in already, and all you have to do is click login, but still, only a minor caveat. If you need access to it through port 80, then yes, you must do a custom install.

Ah, I haven't been paying much attention to the Email support forum

That's alright... I have been paying too MUCH attention lately. I got a response from support stating they are helping in some way. I will see where that goes.
