Now my question is... I do have catchall accounts disabled, but i seem to still have a ton of bounced messages in my email queue, and while i *believe* they are bounce messages from forged addresses on the server, how can you stop that? lol

Does your domain have the SPF Records on it? I had this problem and have an active ticket with Abuse for it, and they suggested turning on SPF records, so I just replied to have them do that.

Do it, you wont be sorry. However, I would recommend setting up your mailboxes at your google hosted gmail FIRST, and then update your mx.

This way you wont lose any messages.

SPF records are one of the few ways to start preventing anybody from using your domain. It is not enforced, but many hosts have started using it. At a minimum it should add a line to the headers that say it was not sent from a host that is authorized for the domain. Here are a couple examples on two of my domains (not hosted at surpass unfortunately)

Code:
dandoze.com. 14400 IN TXT "v=spf1 include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~all"

quakeboy.com. 14400 IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx include:websitewelcome.com ~all"
if somebody knows more about SPF records maybe they could explain it better - or if they are totally useless and i'm kidding myself.

It makes no odds what you try and what any host implements, all it takes is for someone to install a server, XAMMP has it all in for you. Once done they can use a normal computer even on a dial up connection and just sit there firing spam all day long and there aint nowt you can do about.

They make my teeth itch these people. (Spammers I mean)
