IMAP folders with Outlook Express
I'd been using Outlook Express with IMAP, and NeoMail as my webmail client for a while with no issues. It looks like NeoMail got removed from my server though, and I could suddenly no longer access some folders through OE.
I went and check it out in SquirrelMail to see what it calls the various folders. Then in OE, I reset the folder list and now all of the folders appear as subfolders to Inbox in OE instead of the same level like they used to be. Because of this, I can't correctly set the Sent and Draft folder names in OE's account IMAP settings. If I try to send a message, it sends but OE cannot move the message to Inbox.Sent. Any ideas? Attached is a screen shot of my OE folder listing. The Kfizzle account is the one that I reset the folder list on, and Webmaster I have not touched from the old setup yet. I deleted the neomail-trash and sent-mail folders from the Kfizzle account since Neomail is no longer available, after moving the messages to the new trash and sent folders first. |

The error message when trying to move the sent mail item to the Sent folder is:
Some of the messages in your Outbox Folder could not be copied to your Sent Items Folder. Your message could not be uploaded to the IMAP server. The server refused to accept it. Subject 'test', Account: 'KFizzle', Server: 'mail.kfunk.net', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Invalid mailbox name.', Port: 143, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2 |

I don't care WHAT features "cpanel 11" adds. If it means I have to spend 10 hours fixing things to make them work even relatively similar to the way I have it working now? I'll be hacked off.

This is what support has suggested..
1. Move all of your messages to local folders (create new Inbox, Sent, Drafts, etc folders in Outlook Express and move the messages to those folders) 2. Remove the IMAP account in Outlook Express 3. Re-create the IMAP account in Outlook Express I don't see how that will help |

I think I figured it out. In the config panel that is attached, in the Root Folder Path, i put "Inbox" and then reset the folder list. After doing that, all the folders are again lined up on the same level, like the Webmaster account in the screenshot of my first post in this thread. I just sent an email and it was able to copy to the IMAP Sent folder this time. hoorah

You will not be able to "fix" ever. You have to start over.
