I know I've been asking lots of questions lately, as I've been getting settled into my new dedicated server while simultaneously developing a business. I really appreciate the assistance everyone has has given me :-).
My next question is that I have a client (a financial firm) that needs all outgoing and incoming emails somehow logged. The system I have devised is to have all incoming email forward to an email address (i.e. all of test test.com => test.compliance test.com) and then I have outlook BCC outgoing emails to the test.compliance test.com address. This method seems fairly crude, and I'm sure there is a better way to do this. I know there are numerous client-side programs that I can utilize to log emails -- but those aren't great because they can be altered on the client's computer. So does anyone know of a server-side solution? Thanks!

one of my clients requested the same thing, i was advised it can be done but it requires a reworking of exim and has to be done server wide, its worth speaking directly to support about it
just want to add on the end if anyone ever reads this post, we declined the clients request, one because we didn't want all clients emails being logged server wide and two because there are a certain number of privacy issues surrounding this. If you do go ahead with this you will need to make sure that all end users are aware of this and that they sign something to say they are ok with it as it could be thrown back in your face in the future. |

Thanks, deastwood, for the advice! I had a feeling there was some way to do the logging through the exim configuration but I feared messing it up.
