IMAP on iPhone

I'm having problems sending mail on my iPhone and I'm not sure why. I have it set up to copy the settings from Mail on my Mac which works just fine, but these same settings on iPhone don't seem to let me send mail. I get "unable to send mail, put in outbox" or "check outgoing mail settings". Well I checked them and they look right to me. My settings are

mail.mysite.com with password authentication using port 25. That's always worked on my Mac so I'm not sure why it won't translate correctly to iPhone.

Dancing milk is just funny

Nevermind, I must have messed with a setting, because after forcing re-syncing of my mail settings to iPhone it works perfectly now. Did I mention IMAP on iPhone is a beautiful thing?

Does it beat the GMail java (j2me) application? I've using that a lot lately!

I sure think so. It's more along the lines of a full blown mail app. I too used the GMail java on my RAZR pre iPhone, but I don't think I'll ever be going back.

Did you have to set a "mailbox prefix" to see your mail folders? If so, what did you put? I can see my inbox, but not any subfolders.

Thanks!

Hi There,

I'm in the same boat as you, though I'm not sure where to start with IMAP on the iPhone. Would you mind giving me a few pointers or directing me to somewhere I can get more info?

Thanks!
