How do I get started using an IMAP client to access my email? Anything special I need to do first?
Also, what methods are recommended for backing up email files? Thanks! |

There really isn't anything special you need to do.
You just put in the settings and start IMAP-ing. Backing up.. it depends on what program you use. If you use Outlook Express, there is a really good back up program from Genie Soft that I would personally recommend.

Thank you! I am successfully accessing emails now.
I see a folder called .mailboxlist that contains a list of all the folders I set up. I assume I should not delete this folder? Its naming probably hides it from most clients but I am using OSX "Mail" so I see it. Regarding backups -- are there any server-side solutions? Thanks! |

there is nothing to do.. The server is running pop3 + imap4
what ever address you use for pop3, you use for IMAP.. --Charles
