Cron job scans the SPAM and HAM folders that you've moved and copied messages into inorder to train the BAYES system.

But as discussed offline, it's currently broke.

Any word on the status of the problem? I know I'm still getting the error message.

Righto, thanks. :-) Should we, being the others experiencing this problem, submit a ticket as well?

I just noticed something else here. Some spam messages (but not all of them) are being moved to the Trash folder, instead of the Spam folder. This also started about the same time of the other problem. Anyone else is experiencing the same situation? Are both problems related?

It seems that:

1 - cpanel recent upgrade install upgrades Spam Assassin DB to version 3.0
2 - Cpanel's tools are not upgraded to work with Spam Assassin 3.0
3 - the upgrade / synch of the databases has to be done MANUALLY.

Patrickb had to work on the server I'm on for some time to make stuff work. With the new configuration, you cannot use the Cpanel to edit your spam assassin prefs. You have to use Cpanel file manager or edit offline and upload with FTP.

If you're experiencing this error, you'll want to contact support. You may want to mention or reference this message in this thread. Bottom line, Cpanel broke it.

John

I finally started getting BAYES scores without the use of the cron job. Yay. Now that I've seen the BAYES score show up in my spams, I created SPAM and HAM folders on almost all of my accounts on my domain. Let's see how this works...
