I'm now getting the following error messages when trying to download my POP3 mail into Outlook 2002 or Outlook Express 6...

Quote:

Outlook 2002

Task 'emaildomain.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login.  Verify your user name and password in your account properties.  under Tools, click E-mail account.  The server responded: -ERR Sorry cannot find an owner for that domain (domain.com)'
Quote:

Outlook Express 6

There was a problem logging onto your mail server.  Your Password was rejected.  Account: 'mail.(domain).com', Server: 'mail.(domain).com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Sorry cannot find an owner for that domain (domain.com)', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
I know the password is correct, because I change it in cPanel and then re-enter it immediately in the e-mail properties. It's the "cannot find an owner" error message that is really strange. A Google search brings up nothing of use.

Thanks in advance.

Okay, assuming that is the EXACT error message there, then you haven't got the correct mail servers configured in the Outlook options. It looks like domain.com is what you have setup right now, which is wrong.

Your SMTP and POP3 mail servers should be mail.yourrealdomainhere.com.

Your login name will be: youraccountyourrealdomain.com

And also make sure to check the "My server requires authentication" under the Outgoing mail settings.

If that doesnt help, let me know...

I don't know what happened, and I haven't changed anything to my settings, but I've had no issues for the past few days.

Let's hope that was just a hiccup.

I was having the same issue locating the mail server. The error wasn't in authenticating, just in finding the server itself. I had no problems about a week ago, but recently, it's not connecting. I talked with tech support live about this and we couldn't figure out a resolution. We did pretty much everything except throw the computer out the window. Is anyone else having this issue?
