I could use my ISPs SMTP servers, but sometimes that's not always available. I could set up an SMTP server on my machine, here.

Definitely switching to IMAP since this is a "security" feature of broadcasting private information because coincidentally the broadcasted accounts were checked via POP within the previous 30 minutes.

It's fine if they wish to log this information somewhere on the server, but to log it in the outgoing messages is a bad practice.

Not happy. :grrr:

So if you are using mail clients for sending the mails the MTA checks for your IP address in the correspoding files and add the entries under the header X-PopBeforeSMTPSenders.

This is server wide setting so that we can easily identify the domains or IPs that are trying to spam the server. We can't disable this since this is a security issue with the server.

Note : IP address and email accounts are just stated for explaining.

The above entries indicates that you have poped the mails for the email account
X//tch3.com, test//tch3.com and something//tch3.com from the IP 216.X.X.X.

Now when you try to send a mail from the account say X//tch3.com the MTA check the file for your domain name and add all the entries found in the file to the header X-PopBeforeSMTPSenders.

This is a server wide setting and we can't disable this feature.

so if i understand correctly. if i move to using IMAP the 'problem' will go away?

I just noticed this in my email headers and was quite dismayed. A quick search for this thread. Is there still nothing that can be done? This is especially annoying for using addon domains, because I see email addresses from my primary domain as well as one of the secondary domains where my wife gets her email. Yuck.
