Greetings folks.

It is not the results of our email servers sending those emails. It is due to the SoBig.f virus that been hitting people across the net. People who don't have anti-virus system in their systems to block emails attachments are victims of this, not us.

Here is two links which you can read about this virus and better understand the problem that is causing everywhere.

http://news.com.com/2100-1002_3-5066444.ht...html?tag=fd_top

and this:

So my advice to you is to check your systems and make sure it is clean. It only affects on windows platforms, and our servers are on linux platforms so we are immue to this virus, but the end users are not since they are the hosts to this virus to spread more outward again.

But just because we're getting "Mail delivery failed" and "Returned mail" messages does not mean we have the virus, correct? It just means the virus sender is forging our email addresses? Because I scanned my computer and it turned up no viruses.

I've been having this problem since I signed up for my reseller account. When I submitteed a support ticket about it I get told everything is fine however it keeps happening. Now I can't even get mail anymore. outlook express just spits out errors and shows no new email and if I log into my cpanel to read webmail it shows no mail. so I have no mail coming and going except once in a while when I get lucky. I'm really tired of dealing with the email system. this is getting pathetic cause nobody ever seems to know why I am having this problem and I get the feeling nobody even bothers to look anymore. it's just easier to say it's my problem and not a server problem. It's also happening to the accounts I am hosting with my reseller account. go fig I'm done messing wtih it and paying $20 a month. add it up. $20 amonth for 1 year is $240 for no email.

No, you don't have to be sending the emails to get the errors. There are a number of virii that spoof their return addresses, so it looks to the rest of the work like the email came from your email addy. Unfortunately, there is little you can do, other than running a virus scan on your system and making absolutely sure you are clean, which you probably are. I had the problem happen to me for 2 weeks when the Klez virus was out a lot, and all I could do was wait it out.

The virii pull email addy's from the infected computers internet cache and addy books, and use them as their 'return address'. Just be patient and as the patches, and infected computers get cleaned up, or die, it will go away. In the meantime, SOL.... :o
