Hi,
I want to configure Pegasus Mail to access my email here. I have to specify server host names both for POP3 and SMTP. Which hosts are that? Why isn't this information available on default? Thanks, mike

I am afraid, it is not listed there. In the Email section I received it says (May 1st, 2003): Email Accounts can be created in CPanel. For information on how to access your email accounts through POP3 or Webmail visit http://www.surpasshosting.com/support.shtml Which I tried, of course. But the .shtml's were not accessible. mike

i would assume that pegasus is similar to outlook. i dont use neomail either. i just have all my email accounts send/recieve at once.
mail.YOURDOMAIN.com is the mail server. and just take out the S in .shtml to have the page work ![]() |

they are mail.YOURDOMAIN.com
if this does not work for you (it didnt for me cause of my isp), you will have to change the SMTP for sure (i had to), and maybe POP3 if thats a problem for you to. SMTP is for sending, POP3 is for recieving. I would suggest that you read my post the Email Setup, since he didnt respond, i would guess it solved his problem here it is again: ok. i had a problem where i couldnt send too, which michelle fixed, so i hope this will help you to: when i send email through my sympatico account (they are my isp) i use smtp1.sympatico.ca as the SMTP. however, i was unable to send from my surpass email from mail.xtremedesigns.org. so, michelle suggested changing my SMTP in the surpass one to smtp1.sympatico.ca (same as sympatico send 1). once i did this, the error was gone and i could send. hope this helps |

When it comes to SMTP and POP here is how it is.
mail.YourDomain.com for incoming and outgoing will work only when your domain has propagated, if it hasn't then it will NOT work. what you can do also is put the server IP, located in your activation email as the outgoing and incoming mail server. You can just put the numbers alone. You can also do what XtremeDesigns did which is use your ISP smtp for example my local ISP is road runner so I use smtp-server.cfl.rr.com and it all works ok. So you can try any of the above and see which works best for you. :surpass: |
