I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with installing a webmail script? Something which allows the user to change passwords? The only person on the forum who kinda did was websterworlds and i think he used hivemail.

Unhappy

What did you use? I have been having problems finding a webmail script that makes user-created accounts in cpanel. I tried cpanelmail....it hasn't worked for me. Any ideas?

Actaully i installed squirrelmail . Its not really pretty but its very extensible. I do not allow random registrations(I created the accounts through cpanel), but i do allow for users to change passwords. If your still interested priv mesg me .

I'm looking for something similar to Hivemail, but for free.

Just looking for a simple interface where users can create an e-mail account on my domain (and change their password if needed).

There was a free PHP e-mail script like that, but it didn't work too well.

Thanks in advance.

There was someone that installed just what you want. I forget the site name. Something like websterworld.com or webstersworlds.com something like that.

Do a search in the forums. Probably in the email forum.

I think its www.websterworlds.com ? His site seems to run hivemail which is a commercial package. SEEMS to run . I dont think theres any non commercial alternatives that are quite as pretty as Hivemail. I'll list the webmail scripts i've tried

Horde, its semi pretty has good functions. I had alot of trouble getting this to work and infact i abandoned it alltogether

UebiMiau , i cant remember

Ilohamail. Its not that ugly, not terribly extensible. But i dont think it allows users to signup. Maybe a hack with squirrelmails cpanel password changer might work?

Squirrelmail. By default this thing is uglier then squirrel road kill imho. However its REALLY extensible and by now i have autologins, spellcheckers, vacation notices, password changers, last ip,calendar, bookmarks, and little icons to make it a little less ugly

Ilohamail was easy and semi painless to setup. Squirrelmail was probably second easiest because i had a nix box and perl(theres a configurator script)

Hope this helps ;D
