Ever since that damn SoBig virus came around, I decided to change my email address that I use in Outlook Express to send out a newsletter for my domain.

I edit the email complete with images (not attached) and a few color effects (background, text etc)

now heres my problem. I try to do a test email to my other Yahoo webmail address and Outlook shows the functions as it sends the email, and it looks like everything works alright. So I wait a few mins for it send and then go to check my yahoo mail, and I never recieved it! (I did this twice to make sure)

What happend? I noticed that a few of my friends using Outlook express, never recieved some of my emails in the past. Could it be my outlook program, or my email account on my domain? The email wasn't too big, around 173kb.

could someone help me out with this please?

I can recieve mail just fine in Outlook.

Its just the fact that certain emails never send when I use Outlook. I don't know if my Windows platform has anything to do with it? I'm on Win98.

I tried to check my email in my Cpanel and it took me to some weird search engine called XPSN that I couldn't click out of. And it did this for Horde, Squirrel mail, and Neomail.

Something is seriously wrong here.

Now that sounds really funky... Sounds like a hijack to me. Goto http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/ and download that proggy. It will scan your computer and tell you of possible browser hijacks and weird scripts that shouldn't be there. Quarantine them, and then try your webmail... hopefully that part will be solved...

Since this is evolving into a thread about potential viruses and other bad stuff, I have another link that you might like.

http://housecall.antivirus.com

You'll also be happy to know that it works on the windo$e platform.

Thanks for the info, but I think I got rid of as many viruses that I could scan out of my PC. My Norton Antivirus program has been getting a major workout lately.

Do you think it could have something to do with the Sobig virus? These past few weeks, I have been getting tons of email in my Outlook express that contain that virus and I always have to delete it. Did that mess up the program you think?

And other thing, I never knew anything about a "Hijacking" since this is the first time I've been in my Cpanel for a few weeks. I downloaded an program called Anti-leech the other day, and I already knew that was spyware so I hope that has nothing to do with it. I have Adware and I will run it just in case though.

Thankyou for your quick replies to my question! :worship: I'll go see if I can find the problem.

Thats odd.. Norton 2003 and I think 2002 Will Deny the virus from getting to your outlook express. if you have these versions, perhaps your anti-virus is hosed.

If I were you I would try the following.

1. Call your ISP ask them what SMTP server to use for outgoing
2. As above, Install Ad-aware 6 and the latest dats
3. Get your hands on soemthign Like Mcafee if your norton is hosed perhaps mcafee will help you..

Remember: Once you get a virus, if you just delete it sometimes thats not so good. Check nortons site for Removal Tools. like soBig has a removal tool..
