Exactly! Not only did he muck things up with those films. He should have never touched the originals. If he really felt it necessary to change things, release those changes in a Director's Cut.

I have no problem with the new Star Wars films. I mean, what did you really want him to do? He started with 4, so already we know the man can't count

Hans Solo shot first, not Greedo. And the originals still worked even without all the history revision.
