hello everyone
Hi there,
I am pretty new to all this, I built a site for my employer back in 1999 and really haven't done anything since. Jump to the present day and I live in Maine and it seems like my local telco, Verizon, has decided to sell off all their lines here and dump ME, NH, VT for greener pastures. The potential buyer, fairpoint is about 1/3 the dsl speed for about 50% more cost so I am going to slowly, very slowly migrate all our email and web off verizon and onto our own domain so we have more flexibility with providers. Fairpoint will not allow more than 4 email addresses and is against TOS to have more than one computer connected. Maybe they will change but who knows. Anyway this will be a great learning opportunity for us, especially for me and my 11 year old son who is very interested in setting up a website. So, bear with our basic questions and feel free to point us to some good references for non-computer types. Nice to be here. matt |
