Arrow Another newcomer

Hello from Valdosta, GA!

As yet another victim of the "now you see me, now you don't" cclhosting, I was referred to Surpass by so many people that I can't possibly credit them all!

Up until last night, I had a website with forums that ran for four years, a somewhat famous blog of my late blind/deaf Great Dane and a personal blog filled with my daily nonsense. In short, I had an online home and now...POOF! I get to start over.

So here I am, new enough to not even have my Surpass account info yet (signed up less than 5 minutes ago, probably) but ready to jump in, say HI and snoop around a bit.

The thought of recreating my forums is nauseating. The blog directories were backed up but I bet the SQL's weren't in there. So goes life, I suppose. I sense what my first new journal entry will be about once I'm up and running. Again.

Regardless of the circumstances, it is nice to be somewhere that still has the lights on. I look forward to getting to know Surpass and other customers and hope for an even longer run here.

And yes, I have now learned the lesson we are expected to learn BEFORE data loss.

~Nicole~

Hi Alex,

"nicolediana.com" is mine. Thanks for any assistance with rebuilding. I'm hoping for a small miracle (okay, a huge one!) in that perhaps cclhosting will come up for a window of even a few minutes so that my stuff can be migrated. A girl can dream, right?

The weather here is cooling off, finally. As somebody who hates hot and muggy climates, it is a mystery as to why I stay in south Georgia. Savannah weather should be even better.

No problem, was the first huh, I figured you'd had many more first.

Do you use Wildblue, if so, me also.

I used to have WildBlue. Had a horrible experience with them. Now I'm on Mediacom. Customer service stinks there but the service has been great.

FYI: to get really nostalgic, I also had Starband when it was brand new, then I migrated to Hughes. After a gap in service, I went on to WildBlue but never got service (bad install) and finally after moving in town, signed on with Mediacom. DSL isn't an option at my apartment complex.

I usually see advertised speeds with Got SKY (Wildblue), excellent installation, only had it for just over a month, before that had Ground Control (Hughes VAR), much happier with Wildblue.

Just hope you see good with Surpass as much as I have.

Welcome to Surpass! Stay awhile and get comfy!

Lesson learned here, I think, is judicious backing up of your site. I feel for you, my host before Surpass managed to implode my site and didn't give a whoopsie-do about it. And then they stole my domain!
