I don't see anything in the rules about it, but large pics that are really just "notice me" images aren't that friendly to people on dial-up.

well i didnt think these were oversized

and i use em on lots of forums

so i thought theyd be ok

and its nice to easilly be able to tell ure post from another

thats why i like sigs

now I know... I view this thread at home since im using dial-up and take me forever this page to load... :grrr:

I think smaller than 375KB images would be fine for us... specially US! :bottomlin (dialup) :grrr: :grrr: :mad3:

Signatures are fine and dandy for putting a link or a quote.. Maybe even an image, but to me your signature is a little space invasive. They do look quite great, but yeah... File size and the ammount of pixels they take is quite hefty for most people. The load time really isn't a problem on my cable connection, but that's over 2 1/2 minutes of loading time for a dial-up user.

I'm not suggesting that Surpass do this, but I know of forums (Trillian.cc for example) that limit both the size of the signature, and the file size of the signature. Perhaps there could be a courtesy suggestion as to what is more appropriate for dial-up users.
