Cool so wassup

Hi,

I'm Julien Gervais-Bird, 24, from Sherbrooke, qc, ca. I work at Sherbrooke University for a special research project in biology/chemistry (We study and modulate alternative splicing in different human cells using modified nucleic acids... did anyone follow me?). My job is to lead a small (5 persons) team of web developers working on a data management application for the labs. I also do some of the experiment design.

I decided to build a personal web site jgb.ca to hold my resume (the research project is funded until december 2005, we do no know if it will be renewed after). In the sea of web hosting companies, I chose surpass because it was cheap . Up to now, I have been really impressed with the support, but not with the speed of the connection.

I am sure I could be a good surmunity citizen with my skills in perl web applications, html/css/photoshop/etc.

Welcome to the forum.

What connection speed are you getting, can you post a traceroute?

Most are fanatical about the download speeds they get.

Hi Julien,

Welcome to Surpass! I am the head geek at a market research firm that specializes exclusively in the life sciences, so we do a lot of studies that deal with splicing, RNA interference, etc. I just checked our member rolls and I see there are already 6 people from Sherbrooke with us!

If you are curious you can take a look at our community site at http://scienceboard.net

I shouldn't have said that the connection speed was slow. What I meant to say is that I have the impression that my site is slow. I will investigate later if the impression is actually founded.

fyi the traceroutes look normal to me...
