Nifty is being upgraded at midnight EST to a dual Xeon 2.4 server, with 2gb ram.

Currently it is a single cpu P4 1gb ram. This is part of our phasing all older shared servers to dual Xeon machines.

The upgrade should take 30-45 minutes.

Nifty is going down for about 15 minutes
to add another drive to clear up the warnings being received by users of drive full.

thank you for your patience while we complete this.

Please read the information below carefully if you are located on this server.

The old IP is 66.194.238.158

The new IP is 72.29.75.171

VERY IMPORTANT STEP:

Update your domain's DNS to the following:

ns594.dizinc.com
ns595.dizinc.com

Any domain you host on this server, whether it is parked or add-on, please change the DNS of that domain to the DNS above.

If you registered the domain with us you can make this change at
http://www.surpassdomains.com

Otherwise, you need to make this change at the site where you registered the domain.

If you go to your site and you see a cPanel page that reads "No website configured at this address" that means your local computer
is trying to load your site on the old IP. Simply restart your PC, modem or router so it can release it from cache.

P.S. If you are using an SSL or have a static IP email e@surpasshosting.com with your domain name so we can assign you a new static IP and make sure your SSL is working correctly.

If any domain (on the server, parked or add-on) points to these DNS:

ns100.dizinc.com
ns101.dizinc.com

You *MUST* change them at this time.

These are the new DNS:
ns594.dizinc.com
ns595.dizinc.com

Refer to announcement:
Important : Read if you use ns100.dizinc.com and ns101.dizinc.com as DNS

ns100.dizinc.com
ns101.dizinc.com

Those DNS are officially being removed from this server tonight.

You must make the necessary changes that were requested in March if you have not already done so.

Well, it appears we have narrowed down the issues of why nifty has been slow lately. Apparently the primary drive was and is giving drive seek errors. We had no choice but to take down nifty at approx. 8am this morning. We have reinstalled the OS and cpanel on a new drive. We have connected the old primary drive and backup drive to the system and at this point we are doing a recovery of data.

If your sites start to load please don't panic if it shows old data. We had to restore data from an older backup drive since the newest one apparantly backed up corrupted data and is giving us errors when we try to copy it over.

If you have your site on your local computer and wish to upload it faster please do so. It is going to take us at least another 24 hours to sort thru this.

I know this isn't the best news but it is the very honest situation. I apologize we have only posted till now but I been in the data center working with the guys on best course of action.

Compensation will be given by filing a ticket to billing@surpasshosting.com

Nifty restore has been completed.

At this time we are going to be taking request by request of issues left. 95% of sites are working without any issues. However like any restore it will need special attention to little details missed.
