Pass 14 - Sudden Permission Problems?

Out of no where and no changes from my end I got the
following:

-------
"A fatal error has occured: (PATHS/TO/FILE) Reason: Permission denied"
-------

So I checked the permissions, which were and are 755 and no clue at all why this happened suddenly at around 10:15am EST.

Any idea why and were changes made on the server
around that time today?

(Yes, I have created a ticket regarding this through the suddenly new ticket thing, guess we can't email support any longer)

Help desk has always been there, they just updated the software. Does the same thing as emailing support.

Support will be the only people who can fix this weirdness though.

Apparently they've killed the ability for us to set permissions to 777.

Oh man.

This is becoming a huge waste of time for all involved.

Sorry, I didn't think they were doing it past a specific server, so I didn't think it applied to here. Otherwise, I would have directed you to this thread: [Big Changes] PHPsuexec to be implemented on new servers

Sadly, I'm at 5 hours of grief and no fix in sight.

Currently awaiting a System Admin to help and that was promised over an 1 1/2 hours ago.

Starting to feel beaten by all of this and the loss of time is sickening.

Yes, but it's the php.ini file reference I was refering to. Apparently, it's how you can set your permissions. I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around the whole thing, but apparently you can only change settings for specific things via a file like that.

I'm currently rebuilding an entire forum, from scratch...the hard way...because Invision Board doesn't like to make some things easy, I've noticed. Time loss is something I know all to well about, so I can understand that.

It is currently 4:48pm EST and I have not received any response from support since 1:30pm EST when I was told it was going to the System Admin.

Unfortunately, my script is for email and not being able to access this is causing me problems.
