PHP 5 and MySQL 4.1.x

Any word on when these will be updated on the servers? I need both to continue what I am doing. 4.1 fixes a bug that I am currently dealing with and PHP 5 would make things a lot easier.

Not until CPanel and Fantastico support them fully. You can get a WebDev package with these on it though.

4.1 is ancient... I assume you're refering to 4.4.1?

Like David said, PHP 5 isn't well supported by a number of core components, like CPanel and a large number of packaged web applications. I'd love to see PHP 5 support on shared servers, but it just ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Webdev is the best choice right now.

Hah, good point! I have PHP class tomorrow.. so my brain is focused on PHP.

By the way, ever installed PHP on a Mac when you've maybe spent a total time of 12 hours on a Mac, 11 of those within iMovie to do editing? Not fun...
