CSV into MySQL prog or script

I need to regularly populate a DB (MySQL) with CSV or delimited text (probably ',' or '\t').

While looking up scripts through Google I came across this program: http://www.dbload.com/
Has anyone had any experience with this software before? If so, were you able to easily connect to your Surpass hosted server?

Basically I'm wondering if this program is worth my time or if I should just make my own?

Thanks!
dazz.

I've always used SQLyog for that. http://www.webyog.com/en/ It has a CSV import function. They have a free version. All you have to do is make sure you add your PC's IP address to the host access list, which is in the Remote MySQL part of the current cPanel.

If SQLyog doesn't work, give MySQL Administrator a shot. In some ways far more powerful than SQLyog, but in otherwise not as powerful.

I personally use a combination of CocoaMySQL and MySQL Administrator.

blank fields

Are either of those programs able to deal with blank fields in the CSV file? eg:
"","","","","","","Date","Comment"
"","","","","",10/01/2006,"A detailed comment"

Simply Accounting has some... interesting conventions for generating CSV files. :S

I'll also need to deal with a certain field having multiple pieces of information in it since the program doesn't have room for more fields in the report but details about a record are wanted in the DB.
eg: "field one", "field two", "field three, field four, field five", "field six"

Does that make sense to you? It seems like a weird requirement to me so I'm thinking I may be better off writing the script unless the program(s) got that covered.
