I am running a dedicated server. I need to install software that requires PHP 5, currently am at PHP 4. I read about upgrading apache and i can run these two versions simultaneously. All other softwares running on my server are PHP 4 - most can run on PHP5 as well.
This server is production sever serving a significant clientele. I just want to make sure this change will not lead to problems. Can someone who has already done this advice? |

This is a standard setup that we use on most of our servers in a production environment with no issues. You can submit a ticket and have 3rd Level set it up so that your users can switch between PHP4 and PHP5 via .htaccess

thank you for the quick reply.
So the SW running currently on PHP4 would not have any issues or need changes, while .htacces will be added to SW directory requiring PHP5. Is that correct? |
