I am installing pMachine through Fantastico in my control panel. I would like to install it in the top level directory so that its index page is the default page of my URL.

The problem arises when installing through Fantastico as it requires you to create a new folder to install. I have tried installing in a folder and then transferring its contents one level up but this alters the blog. I have also tried installing in a folder called "public_html" but Fantastico just creates a folder called "public_html" within my "public_html" folder. I am considering installing pMachine by hand at this point but thought this would be easier as my programming skills are limited.

Any thoughts?

I am not familiar with fantastico or pMachine but something that may work is instead of entering pmachine, etc. into the path box just try entering / into the box.

I've tried using / for the folder name but get this response:

Non valid information detected:
- This directory already exists or the directory field is empty
- No valid directory name provided.

if using a "/" didn't work, i would say install it manually, installing scripts isnt that hard....

My suggestionis to install it with the default folders and then add a redirect script to your main index.html page to point to the pmachine weblog.php file.

At least that is what I did....
