Whenever I install an automatic archive (eFiction - http://orodruin.sourceforge.net), it ends up crapping out after a day. Or just crapping out in general with out the day.

I've installed this many other times. On my other domain (was different host -- switched it to my reseller yesterday, but the nameservers change hasn't taken place yet) the auto-archives work wonders. Everything's fine, life is good. Makes me think this thing --> :bananadance: <-- is just a little less terrifying because I don't have to update by hand so, all in all, I'm happier at the end of the day.

Except on this server, where it won't send the e-mails for the temporary passwords so people can't sign in when they register. Which means no posting for them, which means me getting so frustrated I could end up crying because I can't fix the damn thing(s).

Also, when I tried to install XMB forums (which I've also used many times before), it wouldn't work. I got an error (well, multiple). I deleted it and tried to install it again, and it did the same thing.

Has anyone else had these problems?

And if so, how did you fix it?

Thank you,
Vi

hrmm, you need to be a bit more specific about the errors. What did the errors say? I'll see if I can help you. :-)

I don't know abou the errors. :/ But the forums are the least of my worries. (I also installed UBB & YaBB and they didn't work either so it's not just the type, I know that.)

What I really need to know about is the auto-archives.

Which doesn't really give errors, it just doesn't *work*.

Which it should because I know how to install it and I know I did it right on all five archives.

I have it installed on another server and it works absolutely fine.

I second that.

There are no errors, it just won't send out the email with the random password to new users. It works fine on my other server (as it does for Vi) so I don't understand why it should fail on this one (dime10 for both of us btw).

Is there a 'Debug' option that you can use to try and isolate the issue?
