Hey guys... excellent clarifications! Of course you guys are right on the money. When I explained in my posts, I was going for the path of least resistance answer. Of course if one wants to follow methologies more closely your advice is much more sound. Thanks for coming in...helped me remember a few things

Thanks for all your replies.

Actually I forgot to mention it, but I completed this step. Here is what I did:

PHP Code:
if (!isset($_POST['tou']))  //tou is the name of the checkbox
   //echo the error 
It works like a charm
