are we, or are we not using phpsuexec or suPHP

I see here where we rolled out and rolled back both. I'm having a problem installing geeklog because it requires writing to files on disk for things like configs, content, etc.

Well I contact support and they say it shouldn't be a problem because surpass is runnin phpsuexec. I'm pretty baffled because I have a phpinfo file on the site I am working on with permissions set to 700, whcih should run like a top if you are using phpsuexec or suphp. It can't be found, which makes me thing it is being run as nobody/uid = 99 aka apache.

It would be nice to know if support is so good, they are telling me completley incorrect information. Because it appears so. If I just make everything in geeklog's directory structure 777 I no longer get permission problems, but in theory, phpsuexec which support just told me was installed should not allow it to run anymore.

so officially, is or isn't any of this stuff being used? Support isn't exactly cutting it on this one.

This could be a server specific issue. You may want to ask support to escalate this issue to Level 3 / server admin to look at - and you can point them at your phpinfo script...

I've not run geeklog, so I cant tell you if it works on Pass5 as you indicate it should with phpsuexec...
