"Gallery" Setup Issues - Please Advise
I am trying to setup gallery and for the temp directory I used /home/user/tmp but it said the rights were incorrect (set to 700). Tech Support said they could change something, but then my site stats would not work. It sounds like the tmp folder is not supposed to be set to 777 so I created a new folder called temp and set that to 777. Is this how other people setup the temp folder for gallery. Thanks for any help!

yes. You should not use your 'root' tmp directory for anything. Always create a separate working directory for any app that you install.
