Unzipping multiple files from a gz file.

Currently, I have a PHP script that will zip files into a "*.gz" file. I can unzip these files using Winrar or Winzip, but these only unzip the files as a single file. Is there a way to zip the files that will allow them to be separated at unzipping?

Hmm, is there also a way to just extract some rows from a .gz file and not all?

Thanks for the heads up; I'll use a package from PEAR to make a PHP TAR archive. At least I think that's what has to be done.

Yes, I can save the length of each zipped file and extract it based on its difference from the files that came before it. Although, the information would be useless to winzip and would need to be scripted using PHP using Apache. I can't do this right now because I haven’t setup Apache and PHP on my computer yet. I'm also in the striates of preparing to uninstall XP and installing Mandrakelinux. After that I have to reinstall Apache and PHP and cPanel.
